Fibre Artist Jeanette Sendler, presently Artist in Residence for Newburgh 2007-2008, has designed a series of creative workshops exploring different aspects of Newburgh, its arts, environment and architecture. |

This is a unique and challenging opportunity to create a piece of Textile Art by collaborating with other art forms, taking Newburgh as a starting point and by working beyond techniques. |

Silk Paper & the Reed Banks of Newburgh |
|
Sunday 9th September 10am to 4pm |
- make a piece of art inspired by the reed beds of Newburgh
- be inspired by a presentation of samples of silk paper incorporating reeds created by your tutor
- enjoy a brief visit to Newburgh's reed banks (slide presentation as a bad weather option)
- learn about dying reeds and silks
learn to make silk paper through heat processing with an iron, no chemicals involved, environmentally friendly |

Felt & Photography/Landscapes in Newburgh |

Sunday 7th October 10am to 4pm |
- create an abstract image in felt based on a slide presentation of Newburgh's landscape and architecture
- mix exotic fibres recalling the shades and hues of Newburgh's environment
- recreate textures of tiles and coble stones of the historic town centre
experiment with the wide range of fibres which Twist Fibre Craft has to offer

Felt & Poetry |
|
Sunday 4th November 10am to 4pm |
- create a piece of felt (flat or 3D) based on poetry about the River Tay
- listen and use the power of words to feed your creative process
- look out for keywords and respond in colour, texture and or shape
- translate words into visiuals
work with a wide range of fibres to develop your feltmaking vocabulary
